On a sunny morning in June 1914, two shots were fired by nineteen year old Gavrillo Princip. A member of a Serbian terrorist group known as the Black Hand. Murdering the heir to the Austro-Hungarian thrown, Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophia. These assassinations provided an excuse for the Austrio-Hungary empire to declare war on Serbia. The Austro-Hungary empire in an attempt to gain more power formed the triple alliance, which included Germany and Italy. The forming of the triple alliance raised the alarm for other European powers, as a result the Triple Entente was formed. The Triple Entente included Britain, France, and Russia. By July 1914 Austria had declared war on Serbia and because Serbia was allied with Russia the Russians mobilized their army. Which in turn caused Germany to to raise the alarm and mobilize it's army. Basically this Terrorist Attack started a really bad case of: "One thing led to another", and BAM! World War I had begun!
